Vintage 415 came to us with a truly unique and historic piece of San Francisco; the Barbary Coast. This restaurant/bar resides in an original 19th century building complete with authentic coal pits and chaseways that lead underground throughout the city. Their idea was to celebrate this era in a contemporary way yet utilize components such as drink tokens and liquor lockers for rental. This building literally sits on the edge of what used to be Yerba Buena cove. Diving deep into library archives we found inspiration in the treasured maps of the Barbary Coast. Translating elements from old ship crate boxes, maps, and typography of the era, we created collateral system that looked like it was found in the basement of this historic building.
