TERRIBLY CLEVER – IDENTITY

The Terribly Clever guys are a force to be reckoned with. They cornered the market on iPhone applications for large universities, figuring out how to take a titanic amount of data and push into the pockets of students.  The essence of this brand was Distilled Innovation, and our exploration process took us through everything from inventions to owls to nerd specs. In the end, the Lightbulb won out, and our challenge was to use it in a way that wasn’t cliche or too full of itself. Co-founder Joseph Bernstein had this to say when TC was purchased 6 months after our rebranding efforts, “The (greater than, uber, supremely) professional quality of the brand and image around TC really helped make us serious to a lot of people. I know it contributed to our success….thank you guys so much for creating that for us.”  We also created a microsite for them as well.
