Located in the Oakland Hills, the Margarido House became California’s first LEED Platinum Certified house. Owner Mike McDonald came to MM-sf to create a website to showcase the progress and final solution of this 5,000 square foot “green” house. What we proposed was the design/development of a microsite that immersed users into the project and assisted in telling the story through photography, statistics and an overall architectural inspired GUI design. The ulimate goal of this website was to generate buzz and pull vendors into wanting to be a part of this huge project. The outcome was that not only did several vendors come knocking, but they became partners of the project by donating large sums of materials below cost and some for free.
