St. Anthony’s

Helping the Underserved Become Known

Brand Strategy + Brand Systems + Identity + Print

St. Anthony Foundation is a 60 year old Franciscan based social services organization located in the heart of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. St. Anthony’s is known as an “institution” by many because of their longevity of service and the millions of meals they have served to San Francisco’s poor (to date, 36 million, or about 2,600 meals per day.)
They came to us for assistance in rebranding their complex organization. We focused on the people and elevating their history to help tell their story. We chose a typeface that was rooted in the older SF street signs and brought a brighter sense of color to the brand. All of these elements together give a nod to its Franciscan roots, its street culture and its incredibly bright future.

Head of Marketing

The end result was not only a beautiful and compelling new brand that elegantly captures us as an organization, but a strategic platform by which to launch it , along with a go-to-market strategy that has been heartily embraced by our board, staff, volunteers, and our guests and clients. This speaks not just to Markatos Moore’s incredible design talent and marketing savvy, but to their grace and aplomb in leading a 60 year old organization through the delicate process of rebranding.
